About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tunnels Engineer (Roads O&M) to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of road tunnels, ensuring their safety, efficiency, and longevity.

  • Conduct regular inspections of tunnel structures, systems, and equipment to assess their condition and identify maintenance needs
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for tunnel infrastructure
  • Analyze tunnel performance data and prepare comprehensive reports on tunnel conditions and maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute tunnel maintenance and repair projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all tunnel operations and maintenance activities
  • Develop and update emergency response plans for tunnel incidents
  • Manage and optimize tunnel ventilation systems and other critical infrastructure
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on tunnel-related issues to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in the development of long-term strategies for tunnel improvement and modernization
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in tunnel engineering and maintenance

What do we need from you

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tunnel engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in roads operations and maintenance (O&M)
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and tunnel design and construction techniques
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Excellent project management skills and experience
  • In-depth understanding of safety regulations and standards related to tunnel operations
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Qatar
  • Relevant certifications in tunnel safety or infrastructure management are a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
