Senior VT Engineer - Site

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Vertical Transportation (VT) to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of vertical transportation systems on-site, ensuring all operations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. As a Senior Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and drive project success through meticulous planning and execution.

• Supervise and manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of elevators, escalators, and moving walkway systems on construction and renovation projects
• Conduct detailed technical inspections and troubleshooting of vertical transportation equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Interpret and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and building codes to ensure compliance with UAE regulations and international standards
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of VT systems within project timelines and budgets
• Develop and implement comprehensive site safety protocols and quality assurance procedures for all VT-related activities
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and performance analyses to track project progress and system performance
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical standards
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and oversee corrective actions to optimize system reliability and longevity
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations to project managers, clients, and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner
• Stay current with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in vertical transportation systems

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in vertical transportation systems, including installation, maintenance, and commissioning
• Proven expertise with major VT system manufacturers (OTIS, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator mechanics, hydraulic and traction systems, and control technologies
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
• Comprehensive understanding of UAE building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements for vertical transportation
• Demonstrated experience in site supervision and project coordination
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CAD software for technical documentation and design review
• Background in quality assurance and quality control processes
• Vendor management and procurement experience
• Budget management and cost control experience
• Certification in vertical transportation systems or related technical fields
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or residential projects in the Middle East region
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems
