The Commissioning Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all systems and components of a building or industrial plant are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the owner or final client. The specialist will work closely with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Experience in start-up, troubleshooting, performance testing, and handing over of water and wastewater projects such as WWTP, WRP, Desalination plant
• Familiarity with biological, chemical, and physical wastewater treatment processes (e.g., activated sludge, membrane bioreactors, UV disinfection)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and control schematics
• Calibration of instruments and monitoring equipment
• Verifying system readiness, conducting pre-start-up safety reviews, and ensuring system alignment.
• Conducting performance tests, operational tests, and integration of systems (mechanical, electrical, and control)
• Understanding process flow diagrams (PFDs) and design principles for MBBR systems operation of paddle or vertical mixers
• Knowledge of aeration systems, including diffusers and blowers
• Knowledge of common coagulants and flocculants
• Training operations staff on equipment and systems, preparing operations manuals, and facilitating smooth handover to the client
• Preparation of commissioning checklists, reports, and system handover documents.
• Knowledge of SCADA, PLC programming, and plant automation is an advantage
• Experience with FIDIC contracts
• Degree in relevant engineering sector
• International work experience and ability to function in internationalised working environment
• Good level of spoken and writen English
