About the Role

Reporting to the TLV Metro Project Director, the Chief Technical Director is responsible for the overall engineering leadership of the Tel Aviv Metro Network Manager (METAV). The role oversees the technical content and strategic engineering direction of the programme across civil infrastructure, systems, environment, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M).

As a member of the METAV management team, alongside the Project Director and Deputy Project Director, the Chief Technical Director ensures technical consistency, multidisciplinary integration, and the delivery of high-quality engineering advice to the Client throughout the programme lifecycle.

The position is supported by Egis regional and global technical experts and requires close coordination with senior engineering managers, technical specialists, and international subject matter experts.

your activities will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead and manage the technical activities of the Network manager across all engineering disciplines.
  • Define and maintain the overall engineering strategy and technical vision for the Metro programme.
  • Ensure effective integration between civil, systems, O&M, environmental, and digital engineering disciplines.
  • Provide independent and professional technical advice and recommendations to the Client on engineering matters.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of senior engineering managers and technical experts across the programme.
  • Lead engineering governance processes and ensure consistency of technical positions and recommendations.
  • Support programme decision-making by assessing technical risks, opportunities, and interfaces between disciplines.
  • Coordinate with regional and international Egis experts to bring specialized knowledge and best practices to the programme.
  • Work closely with Project Controls, Procurement, and Delivery teams to ensure engineering objectives are aligned with programme objectives.

  • Manage and develop a team of senior engineers and technical specialists while fostering a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.

What do we need from you

TThe requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (Master's degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 25 years of relevant experience in large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Significant experience as a Chief Technical Director, Technical Director, Engineering Director, or equivalent senior technical leadership role on Metro projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering activities on complex rail and metro programmes.
  • Proven experience managing senior engineering managers, technical leaders, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong understanding of metro systems, civil infrastructure, interfaces, and Operations & Maintenance considerations.
  • Experience working within large international project environments involving multiple stakeholders.
  • International project experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English required. Additional languages are an advantage.
