In the road sector, Egis operates and maintains 44 roads and highways, including civil structures such as bridges, viaducts and tunnels. Through 28 operating companies, Egis employs more than 9,300 people in more than 20 countries, i.e. nearly 4,400 km. We also offer services such as electronic toll collection, interoperability and on-street parking management.
The M25 is one of our flagship projects in the UK. Together with our partners, Egis has formed Connect Plus Ltd. to manage the 30-year, £6.2bn DBFO contract for the M25 motorway and associated arterial routes surrounding London. We are accountable for the delivery of operations and maintenance, renewals and other network improvements.
We are now looking for a new Asset Lead / Asset Manager to join our amazing M25 team. The role would ideally be based in our South Mimms depot, but we can consider candidates based near other depots on the M25, such as Dartford or Leatherhead.
Our Asset Lead (Structures) will sit within the Asset Investment team, reporting to the Asset Investment Manager. This role will work closely with the rest of the Connect Plus Team, Connect Plus Services (the O&M Company) and other key project stakeholders, to oversee all asset management activities for highways structures assets (i.e., bridges, viaducts, gantries, tunnels, retaining walls, etc.).
From a client-side perspective, this role will own and improve asset management strategies for structures assets in line with DBFO’s hand-back requirements, provide strategic guidance and support to the business enabling effective and consistent roll out & execution of asset management strategies, and continuously driving the asset management excellence to mature asset management approach.
The role is a unique opportunity to work within the Project Company (SPV) of a major infrastructure project and directly interface with other senior stakeholders, parent company and a range of supply chain across the whole life cycle of highways structures assets.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the Project Sponsor in gateway meetings for structures assets lifecycle renewal projects (up to £30m per year) to ensure that projects deliver expected benefits within agreed budget; Portfolio includes iconic projects such as: QEII Bridge, Dartford Tunnels
- Work closely with asset delivery team to optimise scope and delivery methodologies, and unblock/escalate any issues
- Champion innovation, efficiency, and carbon reduction throughout the gateway process,
- Ownership and lead the continuous improvement of asset management strategies for highway structures assets across their full lifecycle, covering inspection, maintenance, and renewal phases
- Support and influence the development of the Asset Management Forward Plan, ensuring that proposed investment delivers benefits (risk mitigation, condition benefit, etc.) and meet strategic objectives and performance indicators
- Desirable: understand Asset Management IT systems, particularly Asset Investment Planning Toolkits;
- Actively promoting and sharing asset management best practices, linking with parent companies and relevant institutes.
- Chartered Engineer with solid technical understanding of infrastructure assets, preferably structures in highways or rail sectors
- Proven experience in sponsoring or managing complex infrastructure asset renewal projects
- Demonstrated capability in making informed technical decisions, driving projects forward effectively, while balancing stakeholder requirements
- Dynamic and proactive professional, adept at autonomous operation within a senior team.
