About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Irrigation Engineer to join our Project Management Office (PMO) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of irrigation systems for urban development projects. You will serve as a technical lead within the PMO, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while supporting the city's sustainable water management objectives.

  • Manage and coordinate irrigation engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with urban planning objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and review technical specifications, design drawings, and engineering documentation for irrigation systems using industry-standard software and tools
  • Analyze water resource requirements and design efficient irrigation solutions that optimize water usage and support sustainability goals
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including urban planners, contractors, environmental specialists, and government stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for irrigation infrastructure in urban environments
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, progress updates, and performance metrics for senior management and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in irrigation engineering
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on project-related challenges
  • Participate in project governance meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement within the PMO

What do we need from you

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in irrigation engineering or related water management projects
  • Proven experience working within a Project Management Office or similar project governance environment
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation system design, hydraulics, and water distribution technologies
  • Proficiency with CAD, BIM, and GIS software applications
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience managing budgets and resources for large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of urban planning principles and sustainable water management practices
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and environmental standards (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multicultural team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
  • Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or irrigation engineering is preferred
