The Workshop Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and uninterrupted operation of all company vehicles, machinery, and equipment by minimizing downtime and maximizing asset availability. The role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, workshop operations, and resource utilization to support continuous and efficient business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all company vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
Ensure prompt response to breakdowns and emergency repairs to minimize operational disruption.
Manage day-to-day workshop operations, including manpower allocation, tools, spares, and equipment.
Monitor asset condition, utilization, and maintenance history to improve reliability and lifecycle performance.
Coordinate with operations teams to align maintenance activities with operational requirements and schedules.
Liaise with procurement for timely sourcing of spare parts, consumables, and external maintenance services.
Manage and supervise external service providers and vendors, ensuring quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies, statutory regulations, and manufacturer standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation related to repairs, inspections, and servicing.
Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and optimize workshop efficiency.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in workshop or fleet maintenance management
Experience in construction, infrastructure, or heavy equipment environments preferred
Strong knowledge of vehicle, machinery, and equipment maintenance practices
Proven ability to manage workshop operations and technical teams
Effective planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of safety standards and preventive maintenance systems
Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
