About the Role

The job includes business development of the Water sector in the Western Balkans with a focus on Water and Wastewater design and/or modeling, as well as the implementation of the Egis’ Water Service Line strategy for Serbia and Western Balkans. The candidate will be responsible for leading the existing Egis Water activities in Serbia and the Western Balkans, focusing on project management of the ongoing Water projects of Egis in Serbia and Western Balkans. The Water Project Manager will support the RSLD regarding the P&L of the Water Sector management including Order Intake Targets, Service line project profitability and DSO. Additional responsibilities include the participation in the development of the financial plans, marketing plans, project methodologies, technical and commercial leadership as well as project and service line staffing requirements and talent management for the Water Sector. The role requires close collaboration with the RSLD Europe for W&E on one side and the Country Managing Director for Serbia and Western Balkans on the other side, the regional commercial organization, tender unit, communication and marketing team, finance and accounting.

In addition, the candidate is expected to actively participate in the development of designs from the water/hydro sector, acting as a responsible designer.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Vision and Leadership

  • Business Development for the Water Sector in Serbia with a focus on Water and Wastewater design and/or modeling, extended on case by case basis to Western Balkans.
  • Lead role in the preparation of offers in the Water sector, with a focus on Water and Wastewater design and/or modeling, together with the Tender Unit Department, namely support with preparation of methodologies, research of relevant experts to be hired for the projects, discussions and agreements with subcontractors etc.
  • Provide support to the Water Service Line in developing region based business plans for the Water activities.
  • Evaluate and plan for future market conditions and align the strategy to take advantage of any changes or opportunities, industry trends and break through innovations.
  • Work closely with peers within the region to create and develop synergies across business and service lines of Egis.  
  • Full Project Management of the the Water Sector projects of Egis in Serbia and Western Balkans, including technical subjects monitoring and control, financial management, staffing and contractual management.
  • Preparation or/and review of technical documentation from the water/hydro sector.

Client and Communication

  • Significant commercial efforts (in coordination with the commercial organization) in order to identify and then nurture and develop leads into active opportunities and pursuit plans within set strategy.
  • Plan and implement effective strategic marketing campaigns, following global service line marketing strategies.
  • Participate with select clients and key accounts on current and future business opportunities.
  • Support Tender preparations, acts as bid manager or ensures such resources are available where applicable for a successful tender preparation.

Financial Performance

  • Responsible for maximizing financial results of the Water projects in Serbia and Western Balkans within the region including profit and loss, fixed assets, capital expenditure and receivables.
  • Responsible for executing and ensuring effective delivery of operational and budgetary objectives.
  • Establish PL forecast revenues and profits in accordance with prescribed guidelines and ensure effective teamwork to meet or exceed targets
  • Complete commercial evaluations and pricing recommendations to the organization with regards to the Water sector offers of Egis.

Operational Capability

  • Work with HR and Tender Unit in order to manage operational planning and staff utilization including future project demand planning, talent acquisition, mobility and retention.
  • Supporting the Water service line group operations to ensure service performance, quality, and efficiency, and cost-effective management of resources as per objectives.

What do we need from you

  • Technical and Commercial knowledge of the Water Service Line activities with a focus on Water and Wastewater design and/or modeling or sub services
  • Experience working with IFIs as well as public & private sector clients in region
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Skill in examining tenders, market conditions and operational requirements.  Experience in sales and marketing is an advantage
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.   Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques. Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and clients. Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community
  • Interactive client presentations, commercial road shows, speaking at conferences and events to promote Egis’s services
  • Possessing of personal license 313 and/or 314 , according to the Serbian legislation.
