The warehouse manager performs a variety of tasks that are crucial to the smooth running of the warehouse.
These include receiving and checking goods deliveries for completeness and quality. They organise the optimal storage and labelling of materials and always ensure that the warehouse area is tidy and clean.
Regular stock checks and inventories are also part of their duties, as is the reliable issue and return of materials to employees or external partners. Maintaining stock lists and warehouse management software are also important aspects of their work. In addition, warehouse managers ensure that the necessary materials are reordered in good time and coordinate this with the purchasing or planning departments. Compliance with safety regulations and accident prevention is a top priority for him. He also works continuously to optimise warehouse processes and procedures and communicates regularly with other departments and suppliers to ensure an efficient flow of materials.
Through his activities, he ensures that the operational area is provided with the necessary equipment components for the scheduled performance of the planned services.
The position contributes directly to maintaining safe, efficient, and sustainable road operations across Qatar’s Strategic Highways in alignment with Egis’ contractual and operational obligations.
Principal Accountability & Responsibility :
- Responsible management of the materials warehouse for road maintenance services (O&M and Traffic Management)
- Acceptance, inspection and storage of deliveries (e.g. Traffic cones, barriers, traffic signs, lighting, tools, spare parts) but also
- Issuing and returning materials to employees and external service providers
- Carrying out regular stock checks and inventories. Preparation of the (annual) inventory in cooperation with the financial accounting department
- Maintaining the warehouse management software and documenting all movements
- Ensuring order, cleanliness and safety in the warehouse area
- Coordinating with purchasing and scheduling to ensure materials are reordered in good time
- Supporting the optimisation of warehouse processes
- Completed vocational training in warehouse logistics, road maintenance or similar
- Experience in warehouse management, ideally in the public sector or construction industry
- Knowledge of warehouse management software and MS Office
- Organisational skills, reliability and initiative
- Physical resilience and willingness to work extra hours during peak seasons
- Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
- Light vehicle driving licence, heavy vehicle driving license desirable
- forklift licence
- Familiarity with Qatar traffic laws, Ashghal standards and road safety guidelines
The warehouse manager should be fully informed about hazardous substances (Fuels, motor oils and lubricants, hydraulic oils, bitumen and tar products, paints and varnishes, cleaning agents and solvents, coolants, batteries and accumulators, pesticides and herbicides, gases) to ensure safety in the workplace and comply with legal requirements. This includes:
- Be familiar with and apply Qatari laws and regulations governing the handling, storage and transport of hazardous substances.
- Special permits are required for the storage and handling of hazardous substances. Regular inspections may be carried out by the authorities.
- Safety data sheets: Able to read, understand and use safety data sheets to obtain information on storage, handling and emergency measures.
- Storage conditions: Knowledge of special storage requirements such as temperature, ventilation, light protection, storage prohibitions and permissible storage quantities is essential.
- Legal regulations: Be familiar with and apply the relevant legal regulations
- Safety measures: They should know what personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary and how to act in an emergency (e.g. leakage, fire).
- Environmental and health protection: Knowledge of environmentally friendly storage, disposal and measures to protect the health of employees
- Documentation and control: They must ensure the proper documentation and regular control of hazardous substances
- Training and instruction: They should regularly attend training courses on local regulations and emergency procedures and be able to instruct employees.
