About the Role

Job Summary

The Vice President of HR Shared Service & Technology for the Americas will lead the strategic development and execution of HR technology initiatives to support and enhance the organization’s HR operations across North and South America. This role requires a strong blend of leadership, technical expertise, and operational management to oversee the HR Service Center, manage vendor relationships, drive data analytics, and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & leadership
    • Lead the development and execution of the HR Technology strategy across the region aligning with the overall business goals.
    • Identify and prioritize technology initatives, working closely with Region and Global HR to enhance HR operations.
  • HR Service Center Management
    • Oversee the HR Service Center operations, ensuring efficient and accurate delivery of HR Services to employees.
    • Implement best practices to optimize service quality and responsiveness.
    • Develop and lead project to build a shared service center across the region.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting
    • Drive data-driven decision-making by managing HR analytics and reporting functions.
    • Use data insights to identify trends, recommend process improvements, and support HR strategy for both region and global requirements.
    • Develop a regional dashboard for HR Americas.
  • Vendor Management
    • Manage relationship with HR Technology vendors and ensure their solutions meet the organization’s needs.
    • Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance and support for career growth.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the HR technology department.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure HR technology and operations comply with relevant employment laws and regulations.
    • Mitigate risks related to data privacy and security.

What do we need from you

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or related discipline; Required
  • 10+ years of experience and a proven track record of leadership in HR technology, with significant experience in overseeing HRIS, ATS, and other HR software systems. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute HR technology strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Required
  • 5-10 years of extensive experience in managing HR service center operations, including benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee records growth. Required
  • Strong leadership background with a history of building and leading high performing teams. Experience in mentoring and developing team members for career growth. Required
  • Working knowledge of employment, tax and benefits regulations across the Americas or proven experience partnering with local legal/tax experts.
  • Successful oversight of HR technology projects from planning to execution with strong analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and change-management skills.
  • Fluent in English; Ability to speak Spanish would be a plus.
  • Experience leading and managing external vendor relationships.

Knowledge

  • HR Technology Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HR technology systems, including HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), and other HR software. Familiarity with emerging HR tech trends is essential.
  • HR Operations: Understanding of HR operational processes, including payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and employee records management.
  • Data Analytics: Proficiency in data analytics and interpretation. Knowledge of statistical methods and tools for HR data analysis.
  • Employment Law: A strong grasp of employment laws and regulations, especially as they relate to HR data privacy and security.
  • Project Management: Ability to effectively plan, execute, and manage HR technology projects, including software implementations and system upgrades.
  • Vendor Management: Knowledge of vendor relationship management, contract negotiation, and the ability to evaluate and select appropriate HR technology vendors.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Understanding of compliance requirements related to HR data and the ability to assess and manage associated risks.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills to manage and develop a team, set strategic direction, and drive results.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex HR technology concepts and ideas to different stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and use insights to make informed HR decisions.

  • Change Management: Skill in managing organizational change related to HR technology implementations and process improvements.
  • Vendor Negotiation: Negotiation skills to obtain favorable terms in vendor contracts.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in using HRIS software to manage employee data, payroll, benefits administration, and other HR functions. Familiarity with specific HRIS platforms used in the organization is crucial. Required
  • Competence in using data analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or other data visualization and analysis software to extract insights from HR data and create meaningful reports. Required
  • Knowledge of project management tools like Microsoft Project, Trello, or Asana to effectively plan, organize, and oversee HR technology projects and initiatives. Required
  • Understanding of database management systems (DBMS) like SQL or Oracle, particularly when dealing with HR data storage, retrieval, and analysis. Required
