Egis is involved in numerous major infrastructure projects, including the Gatineau Tramway, the extension of Montreal’s Blue Metro Line, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), the GO Transit network expansion megaproject in Toronto, and the extension of the Capital Line in Edmonton.
- Assisting senior staff with engineering design on a variety of detailed design and preliminary design transportation projects.
- With support from the Civil Lead, provide leadership and engineering expertise for the further development of the Egis design teams.
- Preparing highway, road design reports for a variety of highway/transportation projects.
- Understanding of construction methods to accurately calculate design quantities, construction schedules, and construction cost estimates. Providing construction liaison services for projects in construction.
- Coordinating with internal and external design teams to advance design deliverables in a multi-disciplinary environment and providing training and guidance to junior staff.
- Participating in the preparation of engineering services proposals.
- Preparing, Monitoring, and controlling design schedules and project budgets.
- Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors.
- Assisting with project management duties on medium scope design projects and performing project management duties for small scope design projects.
- Oversee the preparation of plans, profiles, and design quantities done in Civil 3D, and In Roads/Open Roads design format.
- Preparing tender documents and construction specifications.
- Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitoring industry standards and developments, assessing client needs, and making concrete decisions on proposed solutions.
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in civil modeling with a strong emphasis on road and alignment, corridor modeling, grading, and surface design using Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (including alignment, corridors, assemblies, surfaces, and data shortcuts), AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Desktop Connector, InfraWorks, and Bluebeam Revu is mandatory.
- Experience with tools such as Vehicle Tracking, Navisworks Manage, Dynamo for Civil 3D, Python scripting for automation, and Bentley OpenRoads is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with grading, pavement design, de-icing, road cross-sections, and ICAO/TP312 or Transport Canada standards is an advantage.
- Knowledge of applicable Ontario and Canadian road and aviation codes and standards, including OPSD, OTM Book 7, and MOE/MTO guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong coordination, documentation, and version control skills.
- Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for optimizing digital design workflows.
