We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traffic and Road Safety Engineer to join our team in Lusail, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions to improve traffic flow and enhance road safety in our rapidly growing city.
- Conduct comprehensive traffic impact studies and safety audits for new and existing road infrastructure projects
- Analyze traffic patterns and develop strategies to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion
- Design and implement traffic signal systems and timing plans to improve intersection efficiency
- Evaluate and recommend safety improvements for pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure
- Collaborate with urban planners and other engineers to integrate traffic and safety considerations into city development projects
- Utilize advanced traffic simulation software and GIS tools to model and analyze transportation networks
- Develop and maintain traffic management plans for special events and construction projects
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and government officials
- Stay up-to-date with international best practices in traffic engineering and road safety
- Ensure compliance with Qatar's traffic regulations and road safety standards in all projects
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in traffic engineering or road safety
- Proficiency in traffic simulation software, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and AutoCAD
- Strong skills in data analysis and statistical tools
- Experience with traffic impact studies, safety audits, and transportation planning
- Knowledge of traffic signal design and optimization techniques
- Expertise in pedestrian and bicycle safety planning
- Familiarity with international road safety standards and best practices
- Experience with project management software and methodologies
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
- Certified Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of Qatar's traffic regulations and road safety standards is highly desirable
