Egis Projects Philippines Inc (EPPI) provide services to private sector entities involved in the business of building, operating or managing roadways, railways, and other transportation infrastructure projects.
EPPI has been appointed to design, develop, support and maintain a tolling system based on free flow, nonstop operating mode. This toll system shall have components located on various points (tolling points) of the toll roads- Roadside Equipment (which is subcontracted), and 2 pieces of centralized equipment cloud-based (Operation Back Office and Commercial Back office), being developed by EPPI’s Software Development Center (SDC) team. These mainly consist of web-based software (Customer Portal, Account Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management system, Back-office portal), microservices back ends (API) and mobile apps, managing more than 3 million end user accounts.
The Test Manager will report to the Project Manager (PM) and work closely with subproject managers and their teams. This role will not only lead testing efforts but also assist the PM and Deputy Project Manager (DPM) in project coordination tasks, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for the testing preparation, planning, design, and execution, including ay necessary iterations. You will lead a team of 2 software testers.
Testing activities shall:
- Be conducted as a project on its own running in parallel to the various subprojects, including the RSE subproject which is subcontracted.
- Include internal portions, focused on system’s quality assurance and quality control, and
- External portions, focused on demonstrating the end-to-end tolling system capabilities to the client and securing acceptance and sign off.
Test Preparation
- Understand and analyze the requirements (particularly from Annexure A MLFF Requirements document) to identify the testable requirements.
- Understand and comply with the existing project Master Test Plan: Strategy, Objectives, Aims, Methodology and Process.
- Prioritize the requirements based on the time required.
- Create a requirement traceability and verification matrix.
- Create requirement query tracker (or clarification document) to track any clarification.
- Create ambiguity document (or clarification document) to track any clarification.
- Identify and document the test data requirement for the complicated areas.
- Review test data, screen flow documents etc
- Evaluate and identify various tools to aid test execution based on the understanding of the requirement.
- Coordinate with the Test Manager of the RSE supplier on all the aspects listed above.
Test Planning
- Create the test strategy (Internal and external portions) that shall identify the critical design and development points, and the appropriate test type for it, identify the tools and skill sets required
- Create test plan, developing the timeline and allocation of the resources.
- Review RSE’s supplier test plan, ensuring covering scope, risk, responsibility, timelines, resource (Man /Machine), deployment, exit/entry criteria etc.
- Communicate testing stages timelines to the project and subproject teamx and seek approval from the Project Manager.
- Define the steps to seek sign off from the Client.
Test design, Development & Execution
- Create or review the test scenarios and seek reviews as required.
- Review all deliverables to ensure test process protocols/ internal quality processes are meticulously followed across all project activities.
- Conduct audits at various stages to check for adherence to the test strategy and QA processes and guidelines, within EPPI and RSE supplier.
- Review the test cases and traceability matrix to ensure total coverage of requirements.
- Identify and create test data required for the testing activity.
- Perform system test execution.
- Document and review the test results and clarify any doubts/query raised by team during execution.
- Before any test with the Client, perform sanity testing to ensure system readiness for testing.
- Manage the test team in conducting the test.
- Document the results and Seek sign off from the client at various stages of the cycle as required.
- Review the defects logged by team and assign it to the right owner.
- Support the RSE (Road Side Equipment), OBO (Operational Back Office) and CBO (Customer Back Office) Go-Live preparation steps, shadow running and switchover
Project Coordination
- Assist the PM and DPM in project coordination, ensuring seamless communication across teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Take minutes during meetings, distribute them to relevant parties, and track follow-up actions.
- Facilitate coordination between internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
- Monitor project milestones and deliverables, and assist in preparing status reports for internal and external distribution.
- Assist in managing documentation and ensuring that project-related information is organized and accessible.
Release management
- If/when required, review the daily deliverables and share it with the Project Manager.
- Create and share weekly status reports and daily status reports with the team
- Perform POCs on the tools (eg accelerators, performance enhancers ) if required.
- Coordinate with the release manager to keep abreast with the various activities in the test environment (eg build schedule) and to ensure the right components move to the production.
SLA Monitoring
- Prepare daily / weekly extraction of project’s metrics & SLA reports.
- Follow-up with the project team to ensure that all metrics have been recorded correctly and at the right frequency for the audits conducted internally.
- Identify deviations and alert the project Manager on risks.
- Conduct investigation and report reasons for deviations.
In order to fulfill this role, the candidate must also be an autonomous, open-minded and creative team player. Good time management and project management skills are a must.
- Degree in Project management and a QA Testing.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience managing multi-software systems testing activities, including : functional requirements, systems integration, performance, IT security.
- Experience with software verification, manual testing and automated testing utilizing software/scripting.
- Team leading experience : setting goals, assigning tasks, providing direction and coaching team members.
- Ability to interact with the client & suppliers testing teams for validation & acceptance testing activities, including internal steering committees & Client facing reporting.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira test platform.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
