Based in Jerusalem, you will be part of our Urban Railway / LRT projects in Jerusalem and our other future transportation projects in Israel. You will join the Blue Line LRT project team where Egis has been appointed as the Engineering Monitoring Company (EMC) and your role will primarily involve engineering reviews and design auditing in the field of Rail Telecommunications and LV engineering for and on behalf of the Client and in accordance with the Contract signed between the State (the Client) and the Project company (the PC).
You will manage large sets of requirements for our Blue Line LRT project as it relates to the Wireless telecoms network packages awarded to the PC, including their interfaces with other subsystems. You will be an integral part of the Systems Team and will report to the Systems Manager. You will work hand-in-hand with the Cybersecurity Manager and therefore need to have a robust grasp of Cybersecurity design principles in similar areas / projects, as well as the Integration Manager to ensure seamless integration across all disciplines and sub-systems.
You will lead the systematic auditing and monitoring of the PC’s engineering design for LV and Telecom packages in line with the Contract, including effective, end-to-end change management and control.
You will liaise frequently and in depth with specialist engineers in other fields to ensure effective integration and coordination of discipline design.
The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate. The Telecommunications Expert oversees the review of key telecom engineering documents and must have a broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and discipline-specific railway assets and technology throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), promoting our, quality, and safety values, to external partners including vendors, construction companies, and other subcontractors. You will be already familiar with contractual and technical documents and capable in eliciting contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Leads reviews of telecommunication, signalling and radio systems designs for and on behalf of the State.
- Ensures the PC complies with their contractual obligations throughout the lifecycle of the Project.
- Leads internal meetings within the EMC and with JTMT experts to collate necessary information and evidence and ensure PC products adhere to Project Requirements and changes are managed in full.
- Liaises as necessary with discipline experts (EMC, the State) and with the PC and supports the Integration Manager in ensuring proactive identification of risks and mitigation measures.
- Participates in Working Groups and various technical forums as required.
To be considered for this position, we have the following requirements:
- An Engineering degree (Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Networking)
- Expert knowledge in wireless network solutions amounting to over 15 years (post degree) as a minimum of which 5 years min. are in a rail, incl., preferably, at least one project in engineering and installation stage.
- Strong knowledge of rail industry standards, regulations, and, in particular, open non-proprietary protocols (SNMP, Modbus, IEC 104, OPC UA).
- Working experience Client side (preferred).
- Commercial acumen and change management experience.
- Familiarity with Contracts and ability to elicit requirements quickly and effectively.
- Able to communicate with specialists and confirm understanding of technical issues.
- Able to write in clear, precise English and determine the meaning of complex written statements.
- Able to methodically process and organize technical information from diverse documents.
- Fluent in English oral and written.
