Egis with its partner Gadish (altogether called METAV) have been appointed as Network Manager in 2022, to work closely with the client, National Transport Authority, in managing the planning, design and construction of 3 new underground metro lines in Tel Aviv and the Gush Dan region. The 3 new metro lines will total 150km and 109 underground metro stations to serve 24 municipalities. Key figures:
- Estimated 2 million passengers per day will benefit from the new metro network.
- €50bn estimated cost.
- Benefits to Tel Aviv Area : 30% increase in public transport use and €8bn in economic benefits to the local economy.
- Establish/update Communications & Controls “Design Management Procedures” and in coordination with other technical disciplines, establish rules to maintain those and get the approval on Communications & Controls tasks/deliverables throughout the Programme.
- Ensure proper integration and interfacing with Communications & Controls across the various design disciplines/technical specifications/Deliverables prepared for the Programme.
- Serve as the Programme’s technical, process and professional expert on behalf of the Client, to make engineering decisions, accept design proposals or technical solutions, make recommendations, resolve technical clashes, etc., instruct and monitor the application of the Client MN Communications & Controls documentation by Metro Line managers/designers and relevant Programme participants
- Be responsible for managing, administering and coordinating the Communications & Controls MN Programme design process (including by obtaining the applicable deliverables from each of the Metro Line Manager and then from the Design and Bulid Contractor) and ensuring that it is carried out timeously in accordance with all applicable Laws and guidance.
- Develop a schematic representation of the MN Communications & Controls systems representing the assets and a breakdown of all major subsystems/parts in its environment.
- Support, as necessary, the Client in providing technical support in relation to the management of Programme statutory approval of designs
- Develop, when needed to be designed/procured at Network Level, the Communications & Controls (or parts of it) Programme’s reference design and/or performance specifications.
- Senior Engineer with at least 15 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects including mass transit
- Sound knowledge (technical, organizational and processes) of the Communications & Controls Engineering (OCC, SCC, SCADA, WCS (radio), CCTV, Telephone, PIS/PAS, BTN, ACS) under similar large metro Projects, especially Communications & Controls Design engineering.
- Good knowledge in Communications & Controls for Metro’s State of art, including innovations in technical matters
- Ability to lead and direct project teams , coordinate with others, control time and application of contract, convey good practices and report technical non-quality to management in relation to its area of expertise
- Ability to analyze complex situations and propose solution to interface Communications & Controls with others for the benefit of the MN as whole
- Capacity and Authority to anticipate, make/substantiate choices/recommendations, manage and interact with stakeholders, client and any Programme participants in relation to its area of expertise
