As part of our growth in the UK, we are seeking a Systems Engineering & Integration Graduate to join our team, focusing on Rail Projects. As a Graduate Engineer, you will have the opportunity to reinforce your technical skills while cultivating strong working relationships in a multi-cultural environment under the mentorship of seasoned professionals.
The role:
As a Systems Engineering & Integration Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and reliability of Rail Projects. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of design and analysis working closely with senior engineers and mentors to develop your expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
What does the Systems Engineering & Integration Graduate role look like?
The Systems Engineering & Integration Intern will support the Major Projects Team, activities could include:
- Supporting in preparing Systems Engineering documents for Major Projects;
- Setting up a System Integration and Systems Engineering methodology for Major Projects;
- Coordinating Systems Design including Track, OCS, Signaling, Power and Telecoms;
- Using Digital techniques to improve System Integration;
- Managing a mini-project or an activity;
- Undertaking Engineering Design in line with Industry standards;
- Supporting in the integration of Design;
- Supporting technical problem resolutions;
- Coordinating interfaces between disciplines;
- Ensuring some document registers are maintained up to date;
- Helping with other Engineering management tasks.
General
If you join our programme, you'll specialise in rail and other significant national infrastructure.
You will visit our current project locations observing various stages of the project lifecycle, meeting the teams whilst also getting to know the other functions that support the business, such as finance, HR, and business development.
You will receive intensive training so that you start to understand the railway in the UK, whilst also developing a personal development plan with your line manager.
Rotations within the first 2 years as an ETS graduate in Service Line/Discipline could include:
1. Major Projects
2. Urban Transport
3. Southern, Eastern or Western Regions
As a recent graduate with a background in Telecoms or Electrical and Electronic Engineering Systems, ideally a Master's degree
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to the future of rail development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CAD, MATLAB, or similar engineering software)
- Basic understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in rail engineering (desirable)
- Knowledge of digital techniques for system integration (desirable)
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Adaptability and quick learning ability in a fast-paced environment
