About the Role

THIS OPPORTUNITY:

As a CAD Specialist specializing in land surveying work at Egis U.S., you will play a crucial role in supporting our land surveyors and field crew teams to develop, modify, and optimize CAD drawings for various ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Location Control Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, R/W staking and various other road, bridge and water resources projects. Your attention to detail, technical proficiency, and knowledge of land surveying principles will be essential in contributing to the success of our projects.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CAD Design: Process field collected data into CAD drawings related to various land surveying projects.
  • Data Collection: Collaborate with project managers and land surveyors to gather and organize project data, specifications, and other requirements to ensure accurate CAD representation.
  • Drafting Standards: Ensure that all CAD drawings adhere to company drafting standards, industry best practices, and relevant regulations.
  • Quality Control: Review and perform quality checks on CAD drawings to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Software Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD software and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with land surveyors, and other specialists to ensure seamless integration of CAD drawings with project goals and objectives.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all CAD work complies with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.

What do we need from you

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
  • Associates degree in Drafting and Design, will consider experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD/Civil 3D 2018 through 2023. Specifically, the ability to process and manipulate field collected data, create digital terrain models (3D surfaces with contours) and produce topographic drawings for use in road and bridge design.
  • Proficiency in Microstation products (InRoads, Microstation, Open Roads Designer). This is not a requirement but preferred. Training for these products will be available.
  • Experience in courthouse research including collecting copies of deeds and surveys.
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.
  • Experience in drafting for land surveying projects is highly desirable.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • The ability to learn on the job.
