About the Role
Nature and Scope:
- An experienced Structural Engineer with minimum of 10 years' work experience in similar field.
- Experience in calculating the structural strength of cable tray support, Pipe supports, and HVAC supports subjected to seismic loads.
- Experience in support calculation for the cable trays supports and Pipe supports in nuclear plants classified as seismic and safety
- Experience in writing and verifying calculation notes and hypothesis notes.
Reporting to the Technical Lead, He/she is accountable for resolving support strength calculations and to ensure effective delivery (quality, cost, budget) of Task orders performed by client.
Job Description:
- Review & understand inputs from the client (Cable tray, Pipe support and HVAC specifications, design methodology & specifications).
- Perform Load calculations for pipe support under different cases such as Pipe empty, operating, test case, friction load, anchor load along with seismic load.
- Perform analysis & design of electrical cable tray support, Pipe support and HVAC supports including steel to steel connection & steel to concrete anchor design as per the norms mentioned in the client specification.
- Able to identify design issues and to provide a practical solution, strengthening measures for modification.
- Perform counter-calculations of existing support design of electrical cable tray support, pipe supports & HVAC to verify & validate for new loadings & modifications due to a design change or open points.
- Produce associated calculation notes to communicate the results effectively to technician / PDMS designer.
- Modifications of the associated calculation reports.
- Good understanding of Euro codes EC2 & EC3 & RCC-M
- Working with the designers to implement modifications to 3D models
What do we need from you
Skills and Education:
Bachelor's or Master's in Civil / Structural engineering
Experience in STADD, SAP etc with seismic analysis is a must.
Experience in RSTAB, VerifPlatine, Beam-stress, Navisworks is desirable.
Language: Proficiency in English is must. Knowledge of French is desirable.
