About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Fixer to join our construction team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Steel Fixer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity of our building projects by accurately placing and securing steel reinforcements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine steel reinforcement requirements
- Cut, bend, and shape steel bars according to project specifications
- Position and secure steel reinforcements in concrete forms using wire ties, spacers, and other fasteners
- Ensure proper spacing and alignment of steel reinforcements to meet structural requirements
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, including concrete workers and engineers
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations
- Perform quality checks to ensure reinforcement work meets project standards and building codes
- Assist in the estimation of materials needed for steel fixing tasks
- Operate and maintain steel fixing tools and equipment
What do we need from you
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in steel fixing or related construction work
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong knowledge of steel reinforcement techniques and best practices
- Skilled in using steel fixing tools and equipment
- Solid understanding of construction safety protocols and procedures
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions, including hot climates
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in steel fixing or construction is preferred
- Valid construction safety certification (e.g., OSHA)
- Understanding of building codes and regulations in Dubai
- Familiarity with local construction practices in the UAE
- Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
