Egis Projects Philippines Inc (EPPI) provide services to private sector entities involved in the business of building, operating or managing roadways, railways, and other transportation infrastructure projects.
Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) is:
- the first underground railway system in the Philippines
- passes through 7 different cities (Valenzuela, Quezon City, Pasig, Makati, Taguig, Paranaque, and Pasay).
- Fully automated line, comprising of 15 stations located along 30 km of double tracks, mainly underground, and 1 depot located in Valenzuela.
Contract Package 106, part of MMSP, was awarded to Mitsubishi Corp. in October 2021. CP106 is a turnkey contract for delivery of Electrical & Mechanical Systems and Trackworks. In February 2022, Mitsubishi Corp. subcontracted the turnkey delivery to a Consortium formed from Colas, Hitachi and Egis, with Colas as a consortium lead.
Scope of Egis:
- Turnkey of Platform Screen Doors (PSD) system including spare parts for all stations including test line in depot and Philippines Railway Institute. Egis subcontracted the scope of Detailed Design, Manufacturing, Delivery, Testing and Installation supervision of the PSD turnkey activities to Panasonic.
- Systems Engineering & Integration with 50:50 split between Colas and Egis:
The main duties of the Site Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Managing site access permit applications and coordinating with relevant authorities
- Receiving and inspecting materials delivered to site, verifying quantities and condition, and maintaining records to support invoicing and subcontractor claims
- Supervising and coordinating daily installation activities and preparing daily site reports
- Supporting safety and quality inspections and following up on corrective actions
- Acting as the interface between the installation contractor and the Engineer on technical and contractual matters
- Identifying and escalating technical issues to the Engineering team, directly or through the Installation Manager
- Preparing site documentation and records to support claims during the installation phase
- PCAB license
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- [to be modified based on PCAB requirement] Minimum [X] years of site engineering experience, preferably on railway or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with HSE requirements and quality management systems in a construction environment
- Experience in contract administration and claims documentation is an advantage
Skills/ Competencies:
- Strong organisational and coordination skills in a fast-paced site environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation specifications
- Clear communicator across contractor, subcontractor, and client/engineer interfaces
- Methodical approach to documentation with an awareness of its contractual importance
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with good judgement on when to escalate
- Proficiency in MS Office and document management tools
- Fluency in English required.
