We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Transportation Engineer to join our team in Edmonton, Canada. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and managing transportation infrastructure projects that shape the future of our Province.
- Lead and manage transportation engineering projects from conception to completion
- Develop and review roadway designs, traffic impact studies, and transportation plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery
- Utilize advanced engineering software and CAD tools to create detailed design plans and specifications
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to assess project requirements and constraints
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and national transportation standards and regulations
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate project progress and technical solutions
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in transportation engineering
- Contribute to business development efforts through proposal writing and networking activities
- Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations forming our Health Safety & Environmental management system; and
- Participate in all assigned Health and Safety training programs.
- Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering;
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada;
- Minimum 10 years’ of progressive consulting experience completing transportation projects for Alberta Transportation or Municipal clients;
- Demonstrated experience with Alberta Transportation design guidelines and construction specifications;
- Ability to read and understand survey plans and drawings;
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software would be considered an asset;
- Excellent field negotiation and problem-solving skills;
- Available to travel, evenings and weekends may be necessary;
- Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively;
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team;
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance; and
- Provide a 3 year driver abstract with 2 or less minor incidents and no major incidents.
