We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Systems Interface Engineer for the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) Package CP106 (E&M Systems and Track Works). The successful candidate will play a critical role in leading and coordinating all internal and external interfaces to ensure seamless integration and compatibility across various railway systems and with other project stakeholders. This position requires a deep understanding of railway systems, robust technical expertise, exceptional communication, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and facilitate complex interactions.
Interface Leadership & Management:
- Lead the interface and integration activities to achieve timely submission of all related deliverables on projects.
- Chair interface and integration meetings, ensuring clear objectives and actionable outcomes.
- Represent the Company’s interest in interface or other relevant meetings.
- Manage, facilitate, and coordinate the exchanges of information between all engineering parties.
- Assist engineers within the interface and Integration team in their duties and for the timely deliveries of their works
- Assist Interface/Integration manager on other interface and integration related task for other projects as requested and required
Interface Identification & Documentation:
- Proactively identify, analyse, and define all critical interfaces between CP106's E&M systems (Signaling, Telecommunication, Power Supply, OCS, AFC, PSD, MMS, MVDE) and Track Works, and with Rolling Stock and other external Interface Contractors.
- Lead the development, maintenance, and formalization of all interface-related documents including Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Responsible for maintaining interface management tools and processes, including interface matrices, interface registers, and Interface Requirement Registers.
- Ensure the timely deliveries of the Interface deliverables for all related interfaces.
Technical Conflict Resolution, Proactive Management & Reporting:
- Analyse technical discrepancies, gaps and/or potential clashes arising from interfaces, proposing and negotiating effective solutions to ensure system compatibility and operational integrity.
- Assist the sub-systems engineers in the resolution of disagreements and conflicts by offering practical interface solutions.
- Be proactive and anticipate any potential interfacing issues so that related parties have ample time to define a solution and come to an agreement.
- Escalate any critical issues or blocking points related to system interface and integration to management promptly.
- Provide interface engineering support during all project phases, including preliminary design, pre-final design, final design, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on all interface-related matters, including status updates, risks, issues, and resolutions, to the System Integration department and relevant stakeholders
- Promote a positive cooperative relationship with all project stakeholders.
- Support project safety initiatives, ensuring interface solutions contribute to overall system safety.
- Education:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience:
- Progressive proven experience in systems engineering or interface management, with significant experience in large-scale railway or complex infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in leading and managing interfaces primarily between railway E&M disciplines (e.g., Signaling, Power Supply, Telecommunications, Track, Rolling Stock, and their inherent interfaces with civil structures).
- Experience on subway or metro projects in Southeast Asia is preferred
- Professional Engineering License is preferred
- Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of railway E&M systems and their related interfaces
- Familiarity with relevant international railway standards
- Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify and resolve complex interface issues.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in interface management tools and software - Requirement Management and Interface management via ComplyPro/DOORS will be an advantage.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a collaborative leader within a multidisciplinary team in a demanding project environment.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
