We are seeking an experienced and motivated **Senior Structural Engineer** to join our dynamic engineering team in Kuwait City, Kuwait. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will combine exceptional technical expertise with strong project management capabilities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. **Technical Delivery**
- Lead the structural design of infrastructure projects from feasibility and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction support
- Deliver comprehensive feasibility studies, options assessments, concept designs, preliminary designs, and detailed designs
- Prepare and review structural calculations, design reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation with meticulous attention to detail
- Conduct structural assessments of existing assets and develop innovative rehabilitation and upgrade solutions
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant international codes, standards, and industry guidance
- Coordinate seamlessly with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and geotechnical teams to achieve integrated design solutions
- Utilize advanced structural analysis and design software to model complex structural systems
**Project Management**
- Manage the delivery of projects and multidisciplinary design teams with efficiency and decisiveness
- Act as Project Manager or Design Lead on selected projects, taking ownership of outcomes
- Develop comprehensive project programs, resource plans, and fee forecasts
- Monitor project budgets, scope, schedule, and risks proactively, making informed decisions to keep projects on track
- Liaise directly with clients, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders, maintaining transparent and collaborative communication
- Support procurement activities, tender evaluations, and contractor engagement with commercial awareness
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases, including site visits and design reviews
**Leadership & Business Development**
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians, fostering a supportive and inclusive team environment
- Undertake technical reviews and provide quality assurance for project deliverables
- Support bid preparation, proposal writing, and business development activities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, technical standards, and organizational capabilities
- Champion innovation and sustainability principles in structural design solutions
**Required Qualifications & Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status (PE, PEng, or equivalent professional engineering credential) or demonstrable progress toward achieving chartership
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects from conception through completion
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects and teams
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design principles and applications
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar)
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, buildability considerations, and site logistics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Valid driver's license and willingness to undertake site visits and field inspections
**Preferred Experience**
- Experience working within design-and-build and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract environments
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and Common Data Environments
- Experience with condition assessments, asset management, and upgrade projects
- Familiarity with various contract forms (NEC, FIDIC, or similar)
- Proven experience managing stakeholder engagement and building strong client relationships
- Background in sustainability-focused design and green infrastructure solutions
