About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our City & Places team.

In this role, you'll lead the delivery of projects that help shape communities across Aotearoa New Zealand. Working across a diverse portfolio of community facilities, public spaces, parks, civic infrastructure and urban regeneration initiatives, you'll guide projects from concept through to delivery while balancing scope, budget and stakeholder expectations.

You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams, provide trusted advice to clients, and play a key role in delivering projects that enhance how people experience and interact with the built environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a portfolio of place-based projects from concept design through to delivery.

  • Manage project scope, programme, budgets, contracts, risk and commercial performance.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to achieve successful project outcomes.

  • Facilitate project meetings, governance processes and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Provide clear direction, anticipate challenges and proactively resolve issues.

  • Support the growth of client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.

  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

What do we need from you

You'll bring 10+ years' experience delivering projects within consulting, local government, infrastructure, architecture, landscape architecture, urban development, property or a related environment.

Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively and builds confidence with clients and project teams alike.

You'll also have:

  • Experience delivering projects from planning and design through to construction and completion.

  • Strong stakeholder and client relationship management skills.

  • Commercial and contractual awareness, including project budgets and variations.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, planning, project management or a related discipline.

If you're passionate about creating better places, enjoy working closely with clients, and thrive in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you.
