About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Project Management Office (PMO) in Urban Planning, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative urban infrastructure projects in one of the fastest-growing cities in the Middle East.

  • Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of urban planning projects, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive urban development strategies
  • Analyse and optimise mechanical systems for urban infrastructure, focusing on efficiency and sustainability
  • Oversee the design and implementation of mechanical components in large-scale urban projects
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources within the PMO framework
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and private sector partners
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team
  • Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to senior management and clients

What do we need from you

  • BSc degree (Master's preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years focused on urban planning projects
  • Proven experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) environment
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and their application to urban infrastructure
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and NavisWorks
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies 
  • In-depth knowledge of urban planning concepts, sustainable design practices, and Saudi Arabian building codes and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Outstanding leadership abilities and experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Professional Experience with contractors will be a plus
