Job Summary
The expert will support the preparation of State Regional Plans by undertaking stakeholder consultations, spatial analysis, GIS-based mapping, and preparation of planning reports and DPRs. The role involves coordination with government departments, local authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders to collect data, prepare analytical outputs, and develop planning proposals aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Consultation and Coordination
- Plan and facilitate stakeholder consultations, workshops, focus group discussions, and departmental meetings.
- Coordinate with Government departments, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Development Authorities, line agencies, and other stakeholders for data collection and validation.
- Record meeting proceedings, prepare consultation reports, and incorporate stakeholder feedback into planning outputs.
- Assist in inter-departmental coordination to obtain statutory information, project inputs, and approvals.
Planning and DPR Preparation
- Support preparation of State Regional Plans, Regional Development Plans, Vision Documents, and Master Plans.
- Prepare technical reports, planning analyses, and presentation materials.
- Assist in the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for infrastructure and urban development projects.
- Compile and analyze demographic, economic, environmental, land use, and infrastructure data.
- Develop project concepts, planning proposals, implementation strategies, and investment plans.
- Prepare drawings, maps, figures, and annexures for reports and DPRs.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Collect, compile, and validate primary and secondary data.
- Analyze planning standards, development trends, infrastructure gaps, and regional growth patterns.
- Support field surveys, reconnaissance visits, and ground verification activities.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare progress reports, technical notes, meeting minutes, and client presentations.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, engineers, architects, economists, transport planners, environmental specialists, and GIS professionals.
Software Skills
- ArcGIS / QGIS (Essential)
- AutoCAD (Essesntial)
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Spatial data processing and visualization tools (preferred)
- Adobe Suite
Qualification: Master's in Urban Planning / Town Planning / Urban & Regional Planning
Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in urban planning and development projects.
