About the Role
As our Hong Kong office continues to grow, undertaking new projects with some of Asia’s most prestigious and well respected architecture firms and clients, we are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Designer to work with our Hong Kong team.
You will be responsible for:
- Demonstrate full understanding of lighting design techniques and lighting market to base or influence design decisions
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the lighting design aligns with the overall project vision
- Lead the lighting design process for major projects, from concept development to final installation
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the lighting design aligns with the overall project vision
- Develop comprehensive lighting plans, specifications, and design documentation
- Oversee the work of lighting designers and assistants
- Provide mentorship to other team members
- Ensure projects meet all relevant building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability requirements
- Demonstrate full understanding of lighting design techniques and lighting market to base or influence design decisions
- Manage the lighting design budget and timeline for assigned projects
- Provide expert lighting design advice and make recommendations to clients
What do we need from you
- Higher Diploma holder or above in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or Related field
- Proven experience as a professional lighting designer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Able to complete all stages of the project independently.
- Ability to communicate design concepts effectively, responsibly in an highly organized manor
- A supportive team player.
- Proficiency in software (e.g. AutoCAD, Photoshop, MSoffice, Indesign, DIALux,)
- Well versed on 3D and rendering software will be an advantage. (e.g. Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Lumion etc.)
- Expert knowledge of lighting principles, technologies, and industry best practices
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
- Understanding of electrical systems, lighting controls, and energy efficiency measures
- Ability to interpret and apply building codes and regulations
- Excellent collaboration and client management abilities
- Ambitious and self-motivated with a desire for personal and professional growth.
- Proficient in both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and English
