About the Role

Based in Jerusalem, you will be part of our Urban Railway / LRT projects in Jerusalem and our other future transportation projects in Israel. You will join the Blue Line LRT project team where Egis has been appointed as the Engineering Monitoring Company (EMC) and your role will primarily involve engineering reviews and design auditing in the field of Interface Management for and on behalf of the Client and in accordance with the Contract signed between the State (the Client) and the Project company (the PC). 

You will manage large sets of requirements for our Blue Line LRT project as it relates to interfaces between the scope delivered by the PC both internally and externally. You will work hand-in-hand with the Integration Manager. You will lead the systematic auditing and monitoring of the PC’s interface management governance and maturity in line with the Contract, including effective, end-to-end change management and control.

You will liaise frequently and in depth with specialist engineers in track, electrification, signalling, civil engineering, electrical plant, etc.  

The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate.  The Interface Engineer oversees the review of key systems engineering documents and must have a broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and a good grasp of civils, MEP and railway systems / installations / assets and the interfaces between them throughout the project lifecycle.  Additionally, the ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), promoting our, quality, and safety values, to external partners including vendors, construction companies, and other subcontractors. You will be already familiar with contractual and technical documents, and capable in eliciting contractual requirements in collaboration with other technical experts. 

Responsibilities:

Project specific:

  • Leads Interface Management process auditing, monitoring and control for and on behalf of the State culminating in reviews of Interface Management Plans, Interface Registers, Interface Control Documents, etc.
  • Leads reviews of inter-disciplinary designs and evidence of interface coordination across the entire project e.g. Combined Service Drawings (CSD), BIM models, Inspection & Testing Plans (ITPs) etc.
  • Ensures the PC complies with Project Requirements and technical process / governance throughout the lifecycle of the Project.
  • Leads internal meetings within the EMC and with JTMT experts to collate necessary information and evidence and ensure PC products adhere to Project Requirements and changes are managed in full.
  • Liaises as necessary with discipline experts (EMC, the State) and with the PC and supports the Integration Manager in ensuring proactive identification of risks and mitigation measures.

Role specific:

  • Coordinates and facilitates technical discussions to resolve interface issues. 
  • Coordinates directly with the Client and regulatory representatives, as required.
  • Influences efficient production of Interface Management processes and overall assurance.
  • Reports progress through a project and to contribute to safety assurance cases.
  • Manages task lists, progress trackers and programmes of work

What do we need from you

To be considered for this position, we have the following requirements:

  • An Engineering degree. 
  • Relevant experience of at least 15 years (post degree) including multi-disciplinary design and engineering and interface management for rail projects, incl. at least one project in construction stage.  
  • Familiar with CENELEC Standards EN 50126/50128/50129.
  • Working experience Client side (preferred).
  • Commercial acumen and change management.
  • Familiarity with Contracts and ability to elicit and understand Project Requirements quickly and effectively.
  • Able to communicate with specialists and confirm understanding of technical issues.
  • Able to write in clear, precise English and determine the meaning of complex written statements.
  • Able to methodically process and organize technical information from diverse documents.
  • Fluent in English both written and oral.
