Egis is involved in numerous major infrastructure projects, including the Gatineau Tramway, the extension of Montreal’s Blue Metro Line, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM), the GO Transit network expansion megaproject in Toronto, and the extension of the Capital Line in Edmonton.


About the Role

Our highway engineering team is at the forefront of delivering a wide range of MTO design projects, from highway expansion to bridge replacements. As a member of our Highway Engineering Team, this role will focus on the technical aspects of project delivery, particularly utilizing InRoads/OpenRoads software. We're looking for someone who enjoys tackling technical challenges and stays current with advancements in technology and software tools.

Join us and contribute your expertise to projects such as freeway widening and interchange reconstruction in Barrie, roadway rehabilitation across Northern Ontario, and intersection designs in Southwestern Ontario, shaping the future of transportation infrastructure in Ontario.

  • Designing and drafting of engineering/construction drawings for various projects.
  • Interpreting and implementing standards from regulatory bodies. 
  • Producing written reports, meeting minutes, and project correspondence.  
  • Producing design spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. 
  • Creating plans, profiles, and design quantities in Civil 3D, InRoads, and Open Roads Design format. 
  • Enhancing data charts and tables for presentation. 
  • Preparing and checking contract tender item quantities. 
  • Preparing tender documents and costs estimates.  
  • Maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Completing initial site inspections/field work for design assignments.
  • Keeping current on the latest design tools and aids in CAD/civil 3D/Microstation/InRoads/Open Roads Design in consultation with senior CAD staff.   

What do we need from you

  • Completion of a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in highway design, including MTO design. Will consider candidates with less years of experience if it includes MTO highway design.
  • Has developed an excellent reputation working with MTO and local municipalities.
  • Experience with InRoads/Open Roads Design software.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Well developed computer and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and time management.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle that has valid registration and insurance.
