About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firefighting Engineer specialising in railway systems to join our esteemed organisation in Cairo, Egypt. This pivotal role involves leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge fire safety solutions for our railway infrastructure projects.

  • Design and oversee the implementation of comprehensive fire safety systems for railway stations, tunnels, and rolling stock
  • Conduct thorough fire risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for complex railway environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure fire safety compliance in all aspects of railway operations
  • Develop and maintain fire safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
  • Provide expert consultation on fire safety matters to internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Lead fire safety training programmes for railway staff and emergency responders
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in fire safety technology and regulations, particularly those relevant to the railway sector
  • Manage and mentor junior fire safety engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Egyptian and international fire safety standards
  • Participate in incident investigations and develop recommendations for enhanced fire safety measures

What do we need from you

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in fire safety engineering, with a strong focus on railway systems
  • Advanced knowledge of fire safety systems, equipment, and railway-specific fire safety regulations
  • Proven expertise in fire risk assessment, management, and mitigation strategies
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Outstanding communication and report writing skills in English
  • In-depth knowledge of railway systems, infrastructure, and international railway fire safety standards
  • Familiarity with Egyptian fire safety regulations and standards would be advantageous
