We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with demonstrated expertise in distribution networks to join our growing Energy team in Wellington. We have opportunities to work with key clients in the electrical utilities space locally and nationally, this role combines technical design expertise with client engagement and business development responsibilities to offer a unique chance to drive project success across the region. You will also be responsible for:
- Performing concept and detailed design of primary and/or secondary systems for distribution overhead lines, underground cable network and substations
- Preparing primary and/or secondary design drawings, specifications and reports.
- This role will report directly to the Director – Energy for NZ. there will be a focus on building our presence in NZ and contribute to growing the local team
- Engage with clients to identify and develop new business opportunities, supporting Energy Lead with the preparation of project and bid documentation as required.
- Scope projects, prepare fee proposals and manage delivery to scope, budget and programme
- Provide technical expertise, guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are achieved
To be successful in this opportunity, you will ideally have a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience with demonstrated experience on electrical transmission projects. In addition, you will also have:
- An Electrical Engineering Degree
- Relevant work rights to live and work full-time in New Zealand
- Demonstrated expertise working on NZ transmission or distribution networks
- Demonstrated experience in overhead and underground distribution system design
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience preparing and presenting fee proposals
- Proven ability to manage projects across all lifecycles to exceed client’s expectations
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders at all levels
