About the Role

Role:

  1. Day to day Design management and implementation of the early-stage design, and later technical design of Architecture projects, providing effective and efficient execution of projects and supporting the leadership of the Head of Section and PMs in promoting the image and values of the company within that group.
  2. Senior DM and DM will have the same responsibilities, the difference is limited to the number of years of experience and scale/complexity of projects managed.

 

Design Management and Team Leadership:

  1. Manage assigned projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  2. Develop/ attain Commercial expertise related to contractual scope extent, and possible change management initiator role
  3. Develop & maintain the project resource planning in close coordination with HoD and PMs.
  4. Contribute to sub-consultants’ scope review, planning, and technical assessment.
  5. Lead and mentor a team of architects, designers, and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  6. Oversee quality controls and design checks throughout the project, this shall apply, but not limited to, Architecture, Structure, MEP, interior Design, Landscape, Infrastructure, Fire & Life safety, and other specialty subconsultants.
  7. Integrate early MEP, FLS and specialties requirements / assumptions prior to the engagement of stakeholders.
  8. Conduct Fire and life safety basic reviews and implement the FLS reports recommendations / requirements.
  9. Lead the delivery of large projects while providing specialist technical expertise during design and construction phases
  10. Delegate tasks effectively, monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure smooth project execution.
  11. Ensure required quality checking/approval procedures are carried out
  12. Communicate clearly with project stakeholders (clients, consultants, contractors) to manage expectations and drive success.
  13. Participate in the preparation of proposals in terms of Scope identification, Design Methodology, Design management plan, deliverables and design budget.
  14. Participate or initiate the projects’ MOM, Design Change logs, Coordination logs, Risk register and other related documentation as specified in the list of deliverables.
  15. Maintain records of project activities including deviations and changes.

 

Design & Technical Expertise:

  1. Oversee / Review project/s’ concept design preparation including but not limited to:
    1. Design Delivery plan
    2. Design Management Plan
    3. Presentation/s
    4. Drawings and reports
  2. Collaborate with HoD and PMs on complex design challenges and ensure technical feasibility.
  3. Develop and maintain high-quality design documents and construction drawings.
  4. Develop the project list of deliverables in line with the project contract brief.
  5. Stay current with industry trends, building codes, authorities’ regulations, and best practices in architectural design.
  6. Lead and oversee the design production and coordination process, and minuting formally its tracks; within its own discipline (likely architecture), but also with other disciplines (in house or external design partners: civil, structure, MEP, ID, Landscape, vertical transportation, & other specialists' consultant)
  7. Technical review & assessment of sub-consultants’ delivery.
  8. Collaborate with Project Management team on project/s miscellaneous architectural trackers & reports.
  9. Oversee and review the development of the project BIM Models.
  10. Review digitally the project models’ progress and production quality.
  11. Utilize BIM workflows for all coordination and QMS procedures.
  12. Utilize BIM software effectively and contribute to BIM workflows within projects.
  13. Accountable for the successful delivery of the project assigned to, while maintaining the allocated time frame and budget.
  14. Collaborate with Spec writer for the development of the project/s architectural specifications.
  15. Collaborate with QS for the development of the project BOQs related to architecture.
  16. Contribute to projects’ VE sessions.
  17. Contribute to projects’ tendering process related to architecture.
  18. Contribute to projects’ site support related to architecture remotely (From Office).
  19. Accountable for maintaining all the Design Changes related records and ensuring proper communication of those records to concerned parties.

Communication and Collaboration:

  1. Fluency in spoken and written communication
  2. Active leadership/ participation of client meetings, presentations, and workshops.
  3. Clear communication of design concepts, project progress, and potential challenges to clients.
  4. Building strong relationships with clients, their consultants and stakeholders.
  5. Fostering a collaborative and respectful working environment.
  6. Accountable for maintaining Clients’ satisfaction.
  7. Accountable for maintaining the teamwork environment.

Department Operations:

  1. Report weekly to the HoD / Management on project schedules, deadlines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  2. Work in close coordination with the Project assigned Manager (PM).
  3. Lead and coordinate with team members within their assigned projects.
  4. Collaborate effectively with other disciplines and external consultants.
  5. Participate in Quality Assurance review sessions.
  6. Participate in developing the Architectural and Technical skills of the team members through mentoring programs in coordination with HoD.
  7. Assume full ownership approach to assigned design projects.

What do we need from you

  • Bachelor’s in architecture with significant experience, (Master's degree is a plus).
  • Minimum of [15+] years of experience in architectural design, at least practicing DM responsibilities for 2 years.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction practices, and building codes.
  • Diversified experience in typology of projects in GCC region.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large scale architectural projects and leading teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in BIM process and workflows.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work independently while collaborating with others.
