About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager with a pre-contract bias, to support our exciting growth plans, working with our key clients. The Senior Cost Manager will support the successful delivery of our clients’ capital projects and programmes of work.

The Senior Cost Manager will be joining an established team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and growth. The Senior Cost Manager will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value-driven service for large, high-profile and exciting key clients.

The role will cover all aspects of cost management throughout the whole project lifecycle from initial inception / business case through to completion. The role also provides the opportunity to support the growth of the business and the development of team members.

Duties include (but not limited to):

  • Lead and deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion.
  • Achieve the highest standards of professional competence and demonstrate the ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company.
  • Drive performance standards and technical excellence through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process and EGIS Group technical practice networks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare detailed cost forecasts and budget reports, analyzing variances and identifying trends to support financial decision-making 
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to estimate project costs, including external sub consultancy services, and overheads.
  • Implement cost control measures and monitor project expenditures, addressing any issues that could lead to budget overruns.
  • Review and approve invoices and claims from external and internal suppliers, ensuring all charges are accurate and justified.
  • Strong pre-contract cost management experience.
  • Significant experience and strong track record in the Cost Management/Quantity Surveying field.
  • Experience of undertaking cost/commercial management as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams.
  • Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and familiarity with project management processes.
  • Conduct post-project financial audits to assess cost management performance and identify lessons learned for future projects 

What do we need from you

  1. Education: A degree in finance, accounting, QS, engineering, or a related field. 
  2. Experience: 15 years of experience in cost and commercial management in the real estate sector, preferably with leading international consultancy firms. Experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
  3. Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills. Proficiency in financial management and market analysis.
  4. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and lead teams effectively
