As a Senior Civil Engineer, your focus will be on delivering comprehensive design and documentation for the civil design of sealed and unsealed roads and hardstand, drainage infrastructure, water management and erosion controls in relation to council road and active transport strategies, along with resource client capital and operational projects.
You will be responsible for:
- Delivery and coordination of projects and proposals, with the potential for both office and site-based works.
- Delivery of associated technical design work directly related to the urban, rural, and resources based civil infrastructure (roads and hardstand).
- Design of major and minor drainage and water management infrastructure and controls with an understanding of hydrological principles, and standards with appropriate water management and treatments.
- Project management across full-cycle of small-to-medium projects, supporting large projects as part of project team.
- Undertaking preliminary and final designs as well as prepare concept drawings, while also engaging in design and drawing reviews
- Supporting the well-being, development, and resourcing of team members.
- Participating in client management and business development.
- Playing an active role in the business groups through regular meetings, workshops, training and business planning.
Ideally, you will have 5+ years’ experience within a similar consultancy environment undertaking civil design of rural, and local roads, and open channel drainage infrastructure within a consultancy environment.
In addition to this, you will also have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated knowledge of working with local authorities and local council.
- Good knowledge and application of applicable Client, Austroads, TMR, Local Government and Regulatory Authority standards
- Experience in the planning, development, design, and management of civil and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects including varying levels of roadworks , earthworks, pipe and open channel drainage, and general civil works
- Knowledge and application of stormwater and water management engineering, hydrological theory, and water hydraulics.
- Experience in developing design documentation including design reports, technical specifications, drawings, BOQ’s and cost estimates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
