The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it’s a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.
We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract until 2039
We are seeking a highly capable Senior Application Operations Engineer to manage, maintain and improve the Brightly Confirm (RMMS) application. This role ensures stability, integrity and performance across maintenance and asset management workflows and supports CPS and National Highways requirements.
- System Administration: Manage the Confirm (Routine Maintenance Management) Manage the Confirm (Routine Maintenance Management) system, ensuring it operates efficiently, remains stable, and is regularly updated to meet operational and compliance requirements.
- User Support & Training: Provide technical support, coaching and structured training to system users—including maintenance teams, planners, data analysts and management—to build capability and improve adoption.
- Data Management: Ensure data integrity, accuracy and compliance across assets, inspections, work orders and delivered maintenance activities, maintaining high‑quality datasets that support operational decision‑making.
- Configuration & Customization: Tailor system settings, workflows, forms, templates and reporting structures so that Confirm aligns with CPS operational processes and National Highways requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify, recommend and implement system, workflow and data enhancements that increase efficiency in maintenance planning, work scheduling and asset lifecycle management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, National Highways and the Brightly vendor to ensure system alignment with strategic objectives and contractual obligations.
- Application Support & Release Management: Maintain and support the Confirm RMMS application, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, patching, and coordinated release management.
- User & Security Administration: Manage user roles, permissions, authentication controls and auditability to ensure compliant and secure access management.
- Systems Integration Management: Manage integrations with GIS, BI platforms and mobility solutions, ensuring smooth data flow, reliability and operational continuity.
- Continuous Improvement Leadership: Drive continuous improvement in how Confirm is used across CPS, championing digital optimisation, improved data quality and enhanced workflow efficiency.
- Experience as System Administrator or Application Operations Engineer.
- Ability to learn RMMS/Confirm quickly via training.
- Understanding of highways maintenance and asset management.
- SQL proficiency and system configuration skills.
- Experience with GIS, APIs, integrations.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of IT security and data protection.
Desirable Skills
- Highways or infrastructure experience.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and mobility tools.
- Relevant ITIL/Microsoft/SQL/GIS certifications.
