About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations
- Deliver safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness
- Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, local regulations, and international safety standards
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, making adjustments as necessary
- Maintain accurate safety records and prepare regular reports for management
- Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations and best practices in the industry
What do we need from you
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in industrial or construction settings
- In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws and safety standards
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to influence and educate employees at all levels of the organization
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are highly desirable
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification
- Proven track record in incident investigation and reporting
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations and industry best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations as needed
