About the Role

Validation of Design & Construction Drawings

  • Review and validate rolling stock technical specifications, design documents, and construction drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and international railway standards (EN 45545, EN 50126, IEC 62278, NFPA 130).
  • Coordinate with OEM manufacturers and system integrators to address discrepancies and technical issues.
  • Ensure that all train configurations, mechanical systems, and electrical systems align with the approved design.

Site Supervision & Testing

  • Oversee the delivery, assembly, and commissioning of monorail rolling stock on-site.
  • Supervise the installation and integration of critical rolling stock subsystems, including:
    • Propulsion & Traction Systems (750V DC motors, inverters, regenerative braking)
    • Bogies, Suspension & Guidance Systems
    • Train Control & Monitoring System (TCMS)
    • Braking Systems (Electrodynamic, Pneumatic, Emergency Braking)
    • Onboard Communication, PIS, CCTV, and HVAC
    • Energy Management & Battery Backup Systems
  • Ensure alignment and interface compatibility between rolling stock and infrastructure (platforms, PSD, depots).
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C)

  • Supervise static and dynamic tests for monorail vehicles, including:
    • Brake testing, propulsion performance, and acceleration/deceleration analysis
    • Noise and vibration assessments
    • Traction power compatibility and energy efficiency evaluation
    • Door operation tests and PSD synchronization
  • Validate CBTC (GoA4) integration with rolling stock to ensure safe and automated operations.
  • Lead test runs and fault identification before final commissioning.

Integration & Operational Readiness

  • Ensure seamless integration of rolling stock with signalling, OCC, SCADA, depot, and traction power systems.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to implement reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) strategies.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for rolling stock maintenance and fleet management.
  • Monitor fleet performance, conduct root cause analysis for failures, and recommend corrective actions.

What do we need from you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in rolling stock engineering, preferably in metro, monorail, or automated transit systems.
  • Expertise in monorail propulsion, train control, braking, and onboard systems.
  • Experience in rolling stock acceptance, dynamic testing, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of railway safety regulations (NFPA 130, EN 45545, IEC 62278, EN 50126, ISO 55000).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
