About the Role
As part of our team of expert engineers and CAD technicians, the Roads & Traffic Design Engineer will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines, to oversee the detailed engineering, specifications, scheme designs and project reports submitted by the Design Build (DB) contractors.
Reporting to the Design Director your main duties will include the undertaking design reviews, upgrading, monitoring interfaces and coordinating the roads and traffic works with other team members.
The selected candidate for this position will have min 10 years of experience in design management , Civil 3D Autocad 2D, BIM, Synchro, HCS, and VISUM and can demonstrate experience in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and calculations.

- Undertaking design review of Roads and Traffic Works Covering:
- drawings, calculations and specifications
- Traffic Impact Study
- Traffic Analysis for Roads, Intersections and Interchanges
- Traffic Signals layout plans
- Traffic ESAL Calculations
- Pavement Layers
- Bus Carriageways
- Bus Stations Insertion and Road rearrangement
- Temporary Traffic Detours and Traffic Management Plans
- Roads Signing and Marking
- Roads Safety
- Pedestrian Circulation and Pedestrian safety
- Roads Drainage
- Roads Structures (Vehicle Bridges / Pedestrian Bridges / Tunnels)
- Utilities Corridors
- Parking (on street, Surface Parking & Multistory Car Park)
- Preparing studies for Road and traffic works options
- Preparing Reports and Presentations
- Preparing Design Progress reports and design Schedule for Roads and Traffic Works.
- Regularly liaising with the client, the design-build (DB) contractors and project stakeholders
- Ensuring DB contractors plans and drawings compliance with Codes / Standards and client specifications
- Reviewing and approving the DB contractor’s design submittals for Roads and Traffic Works in coordination / integration with other discipline requirements.
- Ensuring design compliance with HSE and quality standards
- Participating in coordination meetings with the client, contractors and stakeholders to fully understand expected project goals
What do we need from you
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10 years' experience in design and or reviewing design for similar Transportation Projects.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international standards.
- Detailed understanding of materials and Construction methods for roads and traffic works elements.
Desirable
- Transportation / Infrastructure Projects Experience
- Gulf area / Saudi Arabia experience.
- Local Authorities Experience
