Job Description
Being based in one of Egis’ Americas offices (preferably Chicago, Denver or Toronto), the Regional Tender Unit Director reports to the Americas Chief Commercial Officer and is accountable for the successful tendering and bidding activity in the region, in partnership with the Country Managing Directors, Business Line Directors and Commercial Managers.
This includes being accountable for:
· Ensuring compliance with Egis governance (P1 Process), ethics and compliance, sustainability, profitability outcomes, delivery and reputational outcomes
· Implementing a rigorous control around Egis governance for IFI founded opportunities
· Ensuring the performance of the Tender Unit Production Centre and of the Country Tender Units, to ensure successful proposal production with clear win themes
· Monitoring tender forums
· Coordinating and filing Go/No-Go Bid/No Bid decisions;
· Building the Tender Unit Production Centre, inc. digital and IA delivery of proposals;
· Planning for future tenders and tender resources based on pipeline information;
· Tendering and securing of Major and Strategic Pursuits within the region through winning bid strategy, robust pursuit planning and successful bid execution in complex partnering environments (contractors & engineering partners)
· Standardizing the deliverables for governance approval across the region
· Aligning priorities for the regional bidding activities with regional growth priorities.
The Regional Tender Unit Director will work closely with the Global Head of the Tender Unit Production Centre to access CRM data analysis and reporting, high volume production capability for repetitive or administrative tasks. The Regional Tender Unit Director is also part of the Global Tender Unit Network.
The Regional Tender Unit Director will also work closely with Subregional / Countries Tender Unit Managers, Commercial Teams, Bid Directors, and Senior Leaders.
The role manages tender development for strategic bids, improving processes, tools, and resources to deliver cost-effective, high-quality submissions. Acting as Bid Director on Major & Strategic Pursuits, the position establishes tender teams, secures partnerships, develops strategies, and ensures financial and contractual outcomes meet corporate objectives. Governance and compliance are central, with strict adherence to group processes, DOA obligations, and ethics standards.
Stakeholder engagement spans regional and global teams, fostering collaboration and leveraging best practices. Leadership duties include mentoring high-performing staff, connecting diverse teams, and promoting a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement. The role sets clear performance objectives, drives strategic initiatives, and enhances corporate capability. Finally, it upholds Egis’ commitment to safety, environment, and quality, ensuring responsible project delivery and rigorous risk management across all pursuits.
Qualifications
· Highly capable manager with proven senior level experiences in competitive bid experience preferably in the North & South America region.
· Exceptional skills in proposal delivery strategy, design, and execution.
· Proactive problem-solving skills, including the ability to draw insights from data and develop recommendations.
· Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Strategically minded, able to think creatively around Egis objectives and design the detailed steps necessary to achieve these goals. Capable of driving insight to action.
Prerequisite
· Extensive knowledge of the built environment & infrastructure major projects market.
· Proven track record in securing high-value projects in a competitive environment.
· Strong business development capability, with demonstrated success in pursuit management and sales strategies.
· Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience navigating complex government and industry landscapes.
· Experience with a broad range of commercial and contractual structures and arrangements.
· Experience building and leading teams within a matrix organization, balancing global alignment with local execution.
· Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate opportunities and manage risks effectively.
· Proven history in the leadership, governance and delivery of high performing major projects.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Fluent in English.
· Knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Portuguese would be an asset.
Preferred
· Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Commerce or Marketing or associated qualification
· Exposure to international project environments and cross-border collaboration.
