Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in London. 


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join our organisation for a prestigious hotel hospitality construction project in Cairo, Egypt. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex, multi-faceted hotel construction initiatives from conception through successful delivery and operational handover, ensuring exceptional outcomes that enhance guest experience, operational excellence, and brand compliance.

  • Develop comprehensive Project Management Plans with clear project strategy, communication protocols, and master programmes identifying key milestones, deliverables, and critical path activities
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop strategic roadmaps aligned with hotel operator business objectives, guest experience requirements, and hospitality brand standards
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors, and project teams based on mutual respect and integrity
  • Oversee the production of Request for Proposals and tender documentation for hospitality-specific construction services and operational systems
  • Review and evaluate tender submissions, negotiating with contractors to secure best value whilst ensuring compliance with hospitality standards
  • Lead risk review workshops and value engineering initiatives to identify opportunities and mitigate challenges throughout the hotel construction lifecycle
  • Monitor project performance against established KPIs, quality benchmarks, and hospitality-specific compliance requirements
  • Assess contractor claims for delay events and work with commercial teams to minimise impact on hotel opening schedules
  • Monitor and report on contractor progress, commercial matters, and project delivery status, ensuring compliance with hospitality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assess quality standards on-site with particular attention to guest-facing areas, issuing instructions for defect rectification
  • Coordinate pre-opening inspections, operational testing, and staff familiarisation activities to ensure seamless transition to hotel operations
  • Maintain rigorous document management and manage project close-out documentation
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures, controlling costs, and forecasting financial performance across all construction phases
  • Lead, mentor, and support project team members, fostering a collaborative work environment aligned with hospitality excellence principles
  • Oversee and review the work of sub-consultants and directly appointed team members, ensuring alignment with project objectives

What do we need from you

Required Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Professional project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent)

*Experience*

  • Minimum 25+ years of project management experience in complex, multi-stakeholder hospitality and hotel construction environments
  • Extensive track record successfully delivering large-scale hotel construction projects from conception through operational handover
  • Proven expertise managing hospitality-specific construction projects, including pre-opening coordination and operational transition
  • Strong background in contract management, procurement processes, and commercial negotiations within the hospitality construction sector
  • Established expertise in risk management frameworks, value engineering, and cost optimisation initiatives

*Technical Skills & Tools*

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent project management software
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities
