We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Principal Engineer - Structures to join our organization in Bengaluru, India. In this pivotal role, you will lead the structural design and analysis of complex building and infrastructure projects, driving technical excellence and innovation. You will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, establishing best practices, and ensuring all designs comply with relevant building codes and standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with decisive leadership to deliver high-quality structural solutions that meet project objectives and client expectations.
- Lead the structural design and analysis of large-scale building and infrastructure projects from conception through completion
- Develop and review structural designs using advanced analysis software and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and standards (IS 875, IS 1893, IBC, Eurocode)
- Conduct complex structural analysis including static, dynamic, and non-linear analysis as required for project specifications
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level structural engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to integrate structural solutions with overall project requirements
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, design reports, and construction drawings with precision and clarity
- Evaluate and recommend innovative structural solutions that optimize cost, constructability, and sustainability
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering sessions, and client presentations to communicate technical concepts effectively
- Establish and maintain quality standards for structural design deliverables across the organization
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and updates to building codes and standards
- Manage project timelines and budgets while maintaining the highest standards of structural integrity and safety
**Required Qualifications:**
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience in structural engineering and design
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or equivalent tools
- Demonstrated expertise in the design of reinforced concrete (RCC), steel, and composite structures
- Strong knowledge of Indian building codes (IS 875, IS 1893) and international standards (IBC, Eurocode)
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit
- Proven experience in project management and leading multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Organized approach to managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and integrated project delivery
- Knowledge of advanced structural analysis techniques including finite element analysis (FEA) and dynamic analysis
- Background in large-scale infrastructure, high-rise, or complex structural projects
- Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and green building standards (LEED, IGBC)
- Understanding of construction methodologies and constructability analysis
- Experience with structural health monitoring or retrofit projects
