About the Role

PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

  1. Qualifications
    Graduate/Chartered Engineer with 12+ years of experience and a proven track record as a Project Engineer on various projects.

  2. Business Development
    Begin developing a network of contacts and serve as an ambassador for the company.

  3. Project Role

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer.
  • Capable of representing the practice at the project level.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for project outcomes.
  • Manage both the design and construction stages of projects.
  • Maintain management and financial awareness.
  • Supervise a small team of engineers and technicians.
  • Responsible for delivering work within the agreed fee with the Project Manager.
  • Interface with tasks such as:
    • Delivering tasks on time and within budget.
    • Controlling costs.
    • Ensuring quality standards.
    • Presenting to clients.
    • Tracking VO’s and additional costs.
    • Building project teams from both internal and external resources.
    • Planning projects and resources effectively.
    • Achieving 90% chargeable time.
    • Ensuring QA/QC processes are followed and signed off for the department.
  1. Company Role
  • Understand the company’s business plan, mission statement, and key challenges.
  • Lead your own team and demonstrate strong leadership.
  • Actively contribute to the development of company procedures through participation in task groups.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, helping shape the development of team procedures.
  • Conduct six-month performance reviews for your team, with support from Associates & Directors.
  • Provide feedback on company procedures through the review system.
  • Apply health & safety, quality, and training policies.
  1. Engineering Function
  • Agree on the design philosophy and core design fundamentals.
  • Regularly review and provide feedback on deliverables produced by Engineers & Technicians during key stages of a project.
  • Demonstrate broad technical competence.
  • Possess knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, high-rise buildings, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment, and claim assessment.
  • Be familiar with analytical concepts and CAD standards, as well as 3D working.
  1. HSEQ Responsibilities
  • Understand, implement, and follow WME HSEQ policies.
  • Implement and coordinate HSEQ procedures in your workplace.
  • Report any HSEQ incidents immediately to WME HSEQ Department and legal authorities if required.
  • Comply with Client/Contractor HSEQ requirements and complete site inductions before mobilizing to sites.
