Platform Screen Door Engineer

Egis Design Center Thailand (EDCT) provides engineering design services for Egis entities around the world within the BL Transportation.

We are seeking for a Platform Screen Door (PSD) Engineer to join our growing Design Center. As part of the team, you will be involved in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of platform screen doors for various rail and metro projects around the world. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge transportation projects and contribute to the safety and efficiency of public transit systems from different countries.

1. Assist in the preliminary design (drawings, technical specification, interface sheet…) of Platform Screen Door systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
2. Assist in the preparation of Tender documents of PSD systems (definition of technical requirements, applicable Standards).
3. Prepare Minute of Meetings, technical reports, drawings, or other project documentation (presentation, benchmark, follow-up table…) in a qualitative and timely manner.
4. Review design documents from PSD suppliers to ensure compliance with Employer requirements.
5. Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and updates on PSD-related tasks.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless coordination and integration of PSD with other rail systems.
7. Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of PSD systems on-site, coordinating with contractors and Employer.
8. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to PSD and transportation systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related industrial fields
• Master's degree is a plus
• 2-5 years of experience in rail systems, preferably in Platform Screen Door (PSD)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools is a plus
• Basic understanding of railway systems operation, safety and relevant standards
• Familiarity with project management processes in engineering consultancy environments

• Ability to work in an international context – Good level of English (speaking & writing)
• Willingness to work in a design office, and at project sites if required in the future.
• Develop technical skills regarding the international standards, safety, operation and maintenance, applicable to PSD
• Willingness to learn how industrial systems are working (PSD, Rolling Stock, Signaling…)
• Knowledge of the basics regarding electrical, mechanical and logical control of a system interfacing with other industrial systems
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Quick learner to be autonomous and proactive attitude (finding information from colleagues, on the Internet or by contacting PSD suppliers)
• Ability to anticipate issues and propose plan in advance
• Ability to summarize key and salient points
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
