About the Role

We are seeking a skilled OpenRail Drafter / Modeler with strong experience using Bentley OpenRail / OpenRail Designer to support the development of a major rail project. The successful candidate will work closely with track, civil, and structural engineers to produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D BIM models in accordance with project standards.

For the Project(s) on which he/she is assigned,

  • Produce high-quality 2D design drawings and 3D models using Bentley OpenRail
  • Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, corridor models, turnout layouts, cross-sections, earthworks, and rail corridor elements.
  • Generate plans, profiles, cross sections, staging drawings, and construction-ready deliverables.
  • Maintain and update 3D BIM models following project requirements and naming conventions.
  • Support data structuring and model federation in a Common Data Environment (CDE) such as ProjectWise.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and modeling standards (LOD, file structure, metadata, etc.).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (track, civil, drainage, structures, utilities).
  • Integrate models from other disciplines and identify potential clashes.
  • Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Follow project-specific drafting and modeling standards.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of all deliverables.
  • Contribute to internal improvements for templates, libraries, and workflow automation.

What do we need from you

  • 2–5+ years drafting or modeling experience in rail / transport infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects.

Diploma / Vocational Certificate in:

  • Drafting / CAD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying Technology, Infrastructure/Transportation Technology, or a related technical field
  • Proficiency in Bentley OpenRail Designer (or OpenRoads)
  • Strong MicroStation drafting skills (2D & 3D)
  • Experience with rail design elements such as:
    • Track geometry (plan/profile)
    • Turnouts and crossovers
    • Platforms and trackside structures
    • Earthworks for rail corridors
  • Understanding of BIM principles (LOD, metadata, federated models)
  • Experience working in ProjectWise is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to improve workflows
