About the Role

  • Reporting to the Project Manager, the Intermediate Municipal Engineer, will be responsible for supporting the overall success of Major Projects in Canada.
  • Act in a supporting role on delivery of municipal engineering elements of Major Projects, including but not limited to Light Rail Transit (LRT), integrated road rehabilitation, watermain, storm and sanitary designs, active transportation, utility relocation and coordination, etc., from inception to completion. 
  • Monitoring industry standards and developments, assessing client needs and making concrete decisions on proposed solutions. Monitoring project financial performance and invoicing clients promptly.  
  • Participated in the preparation of Engineering Scoping Documents for a variety of municipal deliverables. 
  • Preparing technical designs, specifications, reports and technical documentation for a variety of municipal project elements in the context of Major Project delivery.  
  • Monitoring project schedule to ensure we deliver by agreed-upon due dates.  
  • Advancing projects through the concept and detailed design phases, managing existing clients and developing new clients.  
  • Design and design assistance and support to other Project Managers on project delivery.  
  • Liaising with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors.  

What do we need from you

  • Completion of a University degree in Civil Engineering.  
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.) or Quebec (Ing.) 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive related experience within a professional services environment.  
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with clients and other relevant stakeholders. Thorough knowledge in Municipal Engineering including policies, regulations, guidelines and operational procedures.  
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of LRT projects. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.  
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.  
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.

Responsabilités :

  • Suivre la performance financière des projets et facturer les clients rapidement. 
  • Participer à la préparation de documents de cadrage d’ingénierie pour divers livrables municipaux. 
  • Préparer des conceptions techniques, des spécifications, des rapports et de la documentation technique pour divers éléments de projets municipaux dans le cadre de la livraison de projets majeurs. 
  • Suivre l’échéancier des projets afin de garantir une livraison dans les délais convenus. 
  • Faire avancer les projets à travers les phases de conception préliminaire et détaillée, gérer les clients existants et développer de nouveaux clients. 
  • Fournir de l’assistance et du soutien en conception aux autres chefs de projet pour la livraison des projets. 
  • Assurer la liaison avec les clients, les organismes gouvernementaux et/ou de réglementation ainsi que les entrepreneurs. 

Profil recherché : 

  • Diplôme universitaire en génie civil. 
  • Être titulaire du permis d’ingénieur professionnel en Ontario (P.Eng.) ou au Québec (Ing.). 
  • Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience progressive et pertinente dans un environnement de services professionnels. 
  • Capacité à travailler efficacement au sein d’une équipe, avec les clients et les parties prenantes concernées. Connaissance approfondie de l’ingénierie municipale, incluant les politiques, règlements, lignes directrices et procédures opérationnelles. 
  • Expérience démontrée dans la livraison de projets de tramway (LRT). 
  • Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite en anglais et en français. 
  • Grande attention aux détails, compétences en résolution de problèmes et capacité à penser de manière créative; excellentes aptitudes interpersonnelles et capacité à travailler efficacement de façon autonome ou en équipe. 
  • Possession d’un permis de conduire valide et accès à un véhicule avec immatriculation et assurance valides.
