Summary:
Mechanical Technical Lead will develop and prepare the scope of work for nuclear refueling outage activities related to the mechanical primary scope. This role ensures adherence to preparation milestones, while planning and familiarizing the team to guarantee the safe and timely execution of scheduled activities. The lead specialist must be able to direct and supervise the team, oversee all aspects of planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of assigned work packages, and provides technical guidance throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement work packages, procedures, and schedules for mechanical activities.
- Lead and supervise mechanical maintenance activities as per the planned schedule.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the preparation, planning, execution, and closeout of all related work packages to meet outage milestones.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve operational issues and implement modifications.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and team members on mechanical systems maintenance and operations.
- Support outage planning, execution, and post-outage evaluations related to valves.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Radiation Protection, and Procurement teams to ensure situational awareness and alignment on outage schedules.
- Lead the development and implementation of scheduling processes, resolve conflicts, and ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed.
- Work with contractors and vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years in mechanical maintenance, and leadership roles at a nuclear power plant.
- Familiar with valves, actuators, pumps, compressors and piping systems.
- Skilled in using mechanical tools and specialized equipment for alignment, testing, and repairs.
