About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Engineer to support the PMC team in supervising and coordinating mechanical construction activities for a major aviation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with approved design documents, specifications, applicable codes and standards, project requirements, and aviation operational requirements.

The role requires strong site supervision and coordination skills, with the ability to manage interfaces between mechanical works, architectural, structural, electrical, ICT, ELV, fire protection, and other specialist systems while maintaining the required quality, safety, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and monitor the Contractor’s mechanical installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and verify that mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved documentation and applicable standards.
• Review and monitor installation of mechanical systems, equipment, materials, and associated works.
• Identify construction issues, technical discrepancies, and interface conflicts and coordinate their timely resolution.
• Monitor site progress and provide regular updates on mechanical works, key activities, risks, and constraints.
• Supervise mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting system also coordinating seamless integration of mechanical system with project BMS.
• Verify equipment installation, alignment, access, maintainability, and compliance with approved requirements.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical submissions, method statements, RFIs, inspection requests, and other Contractor submissions.
• Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural, electrical, ICT, ELV, fire and life safety, and specialist systems.
• Review and monitor builders’ work requirements, penetrations, sleeves, equipment bases, shafts, access requirements, and service routes.
• Ensure appropriate coordination of mechanical systems within congested areas and critical facilities.
• Support the resolution of technical queries and design/construction interfaces with the Designer and Contractor.
• Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with approved quality procedures, ITPs, inspection requirements, and project specifications.
• Witness inspections, testing, and factory/site acceptance activities as required.
• Identify non-conforming works and support the issuance and close-out of NCRs, observations, and corrective actions.
• Verify that approved materials and equipment are used and properly installed.
• Maintain appropriate records of inspections, testing, approvals, and site observations.
• Monitor and witness testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Review testing and commissioning procedures, plans, and results.
• Review O&M manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, test certificates, and other handover documentation.
• Support snagging, final inspections, completion activities, and handover of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate mechanical works within airside and landside.
• Ensure construction activities do not adversely affect existing operations.
• Support ORAT activities related to mechanical systems, equipment, maintainability, and operational readiness.
• Participate in progress, technical, coordination, and construction meetings.
• Prepare site inspection reports, progress updates, technical observations, and other required PMC documentation.
• Coordinate with the PMC Project Manager, MEP team, QA/QC, HSE, planning, commercial, and other discipline teams.
• Monitor outstanding technical and construction issues and follow up on their timely resolution.


What do we need from you

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical construction supervision, preferably within major building, infrastructure, or aviation projects.
• Proven experience in airport/aviation projects is highly preferred.
• Experience in PMC, consultancy, Client representative, or construction supervision roles.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, mechanical equipment, and associated building services.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, snagging, handover, and close-out of mechanical systems.
• Experience reviewing technical submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and RFIs.
• Good knowledge of applicable international standards, codes, specifications, and project requirements.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary and technically complex project environments.
• Knowledge of airport operational, safety, and security requirements is an advantage.
• Experience with ORAT, operational readiness, or airport transition activities is preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, CAD software (AutoCAD), document control systems (Aconex), and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Excellent communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors, interfaces, and priorities within a demanding project environment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
• Understanding of sustainable construction practices and their application within project delivery.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
