About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design of building mechanical systems. Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, the role supports projects involving heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire protection and associated building systems across design and operational phases.

This position involves conducting technical analysis and producing engineering documentation (drawings/reports).

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of seven years of experience in building mechanical systems engineering, with strong exposure to design across a diverse project portfolio. This includes new construction in healthcare, aviation, commercial and data center sectors, as well as retrofit and upgrade projects in commercial and healthcare facilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations and complete HVAC system sizing for ducts, piping, and equipment.
  • Design plumbing systems consisting of sanitary, domestic hot and cold water systems, and storm water systems within buildings
  • Design fire protection and sprinkler systems
  • Review Shop Drawings
  • Prepare technical documentation including design reports, specifications, and construction drawings mark-ups.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and stakeholder coordination to maintain project alignment.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with varied complexity, ensuring quality control and timely delivery.

 


What do we need from you

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in building mechanical systems engineering .
  • Experience working on projects with North America is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire detection/ suppression and safety systems
  • Strong knowledge of International Plumbing Code, ASHRAE Standards (62.1, 90, 55) and NFPA 90
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Qualified candidates must be able to clearly and concisely converse with the project team, both internally and externally;
  • Candidates selected for interviews will need to complete a written Mechanical engineering knowledge test
