About Us

SouthLink N25 is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Suir Bridge & Toll Plaza at Gracedieu, on the outskirts of Waterford City.

We manage toll collection and processes surrounding the smooth operation of the Plaza. We take our role seriously as contributing to the safety and efficiency of Waterford’s transportation infrastructure, improving journey times and connectivity for communities in the city and its environs.


About the Role

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of predominately Electrical and Mechanical Systems.
  • Maintenance Management System administration.
  • Participate in Maintenance Management meetings and workshops.
  • System owner of complete systems e.g. Toll Control equipment and building facilities.
  • Provide On-Call cover on a rostered basis.
  • Assist in the implementation of equipment and process upgrade projects.
  • Manage and support projects to improve equipment reliability, performance and availability.
  • Develop, manage and supervise projects undertaken by the Maintenance Department.
  • Completion of Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance paperwork.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance systems.
  • Control Safe Work Permit and other safety registers.
  • Participate in Health & Safety meetings and management of assigned actions resulting from action plans.
  • Prepare and review internal procedures, method statement and risk assessments.
  • Ensure Health and Safety and Quality compliance.
  • Review and approve external contractors’ procedures, method statements and risk assessments for their works on site.
  • Responsible for the management of local contracts (appointment, monitoring and evaluation of Contractors).
  • Work with engineers and suppliers to identify and solve problems and to improve the reliability of tolling systems.
  • Support the Management team in delivery of the Operations and Maintenance agreement.
  • Assist with budget and expenditure reports.
  • Deliver Inductions and Toolbox talks.
  • Develop and manage small projects.
  • Other maintenance activities as directed.

What do we need from you

Qualifications/ Education / Training

Essential

  • 2nd level education
  • 5 years previous experience as a maintenance technician
  • NFQ Level 6 (e.g. Advanced/Higher Certificate in electrical/mechanical/computer systems)
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook / Report writing and experience in trouble shooting
  • Safe Pass

Desirable

Up-to-date training/qualifications in:

  • Tolling IT systems (software/hardware)
  • MEWPS
  • Working at heights
  • H&S Related training - First Aid, Fire Warden, Manual Handling. Safety Rep.
  • ECDL or equivalent
  • Other complementary work-related training courses/qualifications

 

Experience/ Knowledge

Essential

  • Relevant technical maintenance experience
  • Experience in general office administration
  • Experience of developing and implementing programmes of planned/preventative maintenance
  • Experience in implementing Company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools
  • Awareness of the occupational hazards associated with the full range of activities involved in the maintenance works
  • Awareness of the safety precautions necessary to control these hazards
  • Desirable
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience of maintaining a tolling system or similar 24/7 system with hardware/software components
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices used in performing the toll system maintenance requirements
  • Experience of operating and maintaining building management systems
