Experience in Railway industry (preferred)
Inspection and Assessment:
Investigate and inspect high-risk or incident-prone areas, reporting findings and proposing necessary actions.
Perform physical site inspections according to the PM/CM delivery schedule, including weekends and nights if necessary.
Validate maintenance work orders and data against actual site conditions.
Carry out site assessment of high-risk areas/prone stations following incidents or as need basis.
Interrogate the MMS asset management data base and cross-reference this on a sample basis against the PM/CM delivery schedule physically for accuracy and information being recorded - validate works being completed against WO in MMS
Evaluate the quality of maintenance being undertaken by the Service Provider or QR Maintenance Contractors as per the approved maintenance documentation.
Evaluate the quality of maintenance conducted by service providers, ensuring compliance with approved documentation.
Ensure that maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
Conduct routine and emergency inspections of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
Identify signs of wear, malfunctions, or potential safety hazards.
Evaluate the condition of equipment and systems to determine the need for repairs or replacements.
Validate the MMS asset registry and asset condition assessment on all locations as per the program schedule.
Oversee the performance of the Contractors activities is in accordance of the approved maintenance documentation.
Maintenance Coordination:
Report findings to QR inspector supervisor.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to execute the inspection program allocated by the Inspector supervisor.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of inspection results, maintenance activities witnessed, findings and intervention history.
Prepare and submit reports on inspection findings, maintenance issues, and completed work.
Identification and reporting of any safety hazards encountered during inspections.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all inspections are conducted in compliance with safety standards, and promptly report any safety hazards or non-compliance issues.
Ensure that all witnessed maintenance activities comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
Promote a culture of safety within the network by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
Conduct safety inspection and assist in enhancing safety protocols and procedures in relation to the maintenance activity.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with maintenance staff, management, and other departments regarding inspection results and maintenance needs.
Provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades to enhance safety, operation and asset life.
Collaborate with external contractors or vendors for specialized maintenance tasks when necessary.
Training and Development:
Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and new maintenance techniques.
Participate in training program as required by QR to enhance skills and knowledge related to maintenance and inspection.
National diploma or degree preferred in engineering fields or equivalent.
5 to 10 years in Maintenance / Quality inspector role.
Experience in Railway industry (preferred)
Functional understanding of all railways technical disciplines e.g. Rollingstock, Signalling, Telecommunication, MEP, HVAC, Fire Life Safety System, Track etc. would be highly advantageous.
